Three Klezmer Sketches

The three klezmer sketches were written for Pete Rosser and the Rosetta Ensemble. They exist in versions for accordion and string quartet, for bandoneon and string quartet and for piano and string quartet. They mostly consist of original material that references stylistic elements of klezmer movement. The second movement, Partizaner Lid, takes as its starting point the song “Shtil, di nakht is oysgeshternt” by Hirsh Glik although the song is not actually quoted.
